intercom PM1000

The PM1000II gives you great capabilities, unbelievable flexibility and some of the most advanced features of the product line.
Check out the one minute playback digital recorder optional feature, allowing pilots to replay radio calls on demand.

The PM1000II panel mounted, four-channel intercom gains the benefits of PS Engineering's 18 years of design excellence. This popular panel mount has advanced features found in only more expensive competitor's units. Some of its best features include:
  • Pilot isolate, crew isolate, and dual entertainment sources allow full flexibility, even giving pilots the option to feed music to the passengers and allow them to chat among themselves without disturbing the front seats. (Note: crew isolate and dual music requires the 11920 model)
  • Soft Mute circuitry is our standard-setting solution for managing the music volume levels against radio reception and transmission.
  • Automatic fail-safe interconnect to the aircraft radio wires the pilot's headset to the aircraft radio in the event of disrupted power or related failure.
  • Separate pilot and copilot transmit capabilities ensures that only the person pressing the PTT will be heard over the radio. A red transmit light is illuminated when a PTT is pressed -- this also serves as a "stuck-mic" indicator.
  • Independent intercom volume settings do not affect radio equipment volume levels, allowing better control over communications.
  • An optional digital recorder can provide up to one minute of storage of radio receptions. A continuous loop recorder, it does not record "dead air time", giving the pilots an option to store up to 16 messages at any one time.

Stereo Intercom in the World!

intercom PM3000

The PM3000 boasts an easy-to-use interface that clearly outperforms the competition.
This is why the PM3000 is one of our best selling units. Excellent quality at a great price!
Some of its best features include:
  • The standard four place stereo intercom (11931) has two modes at a flip of the switch: Pilot isolate (ISO) and all, so that the entire aircraft may communicate together.
  • The six place stereo intercom (11932) adds the crew isolate feature (front seats separate from back) and dual stereo entertainment inputs. This gives incredible flexibility, even giving pilots the option to feed music to the passengers and allow them to chat among themselves without disturbing the front seats.
  • A single squelch control knob for multiple squelch circuits provides simplified operation as well as making the intercom one of the quietest to use, even in the noisiest of airplanes.
  • Soft Mute circuitry is our standard-setting solution for managing the music volume levels against radio reception and transmission. Once you stop talking, Soft Mute gradually returns the music to its original volume.
  • The intercom volume does not effect the aircraft radio volume, and the pilot has the ability to control the audio level of the intercom independently from the audio level of the aircraft radio.
  • An optional digital recorder can provide up to one minute of storage of radio receptions. A continuous loop recorder, it does not record "dead air time", giving the pilots an option to store up to 16 messages at any one time.
With the PM3000, you get years of trouble-free operation in a very inexpensive unit.

In-Flight Entertainment Reaches New Heights!

intercom PCD7100
Now standard with MP3

The PCD7100-Series integrated Intercom and entertainment system is designed from the beginning for aircraft installations. By combining a superb Compact Disk (CD) player with a high-performance intercom and audio system, installation and operation is simplified. With MP3 capability, the user can store almost 20 hours of continuous music recorded on a single CD disc, minimizing the cockpit clutter of CDs!

The PCD7100-I incorporates PS Engineering's exclusive IntelliVox®, the completely automatic digitally controlled intercom squelch. IntelliVox®  has been a proven performer in all types of aircraft, from warbirds to helicopters.

The PCD7100-I has music and intercom volume controls, for precise adjustment of the audio levels. The five back-lit CD push button controls have LED mode annunciation are Play, Skip, Repeat, Stop and Eject.

Several intercoms modes are available. In ALL mode, all intercom positions hear the aircraft radios and the CD player, with our proprietary "Soft Mute™" circuit. In ISO mode, the pilot hears only aircraft radio traffic, without music or intercom interruptions. In crew mode, the pilot and copilot hear the internal CD player, and radio traffic, while the passengers can either listen to the internal player, or use another entertainment source, depending on installation configuration.

What about vibration? The Compact Disk Player is designed to withstand severe turbulence and very hard landings without missing a beat. The PCD7100 will be well suited to any aircraft cockpit or cabin vibration environment. The PCD7100 is also very tolerant of unusual attitudes, and will function in almost any normal category pitch or roll condition.

The automatic fail-safe feature (EMG) connects the pilot directly to the aircraft radios if power is removed from the PCD7100-I for any reason. Like all PS Engineering intercoms, both the pilot and copilot have transmit capability over the aircraft radios

An available Digital Recorder and Audio Warning System (DRAWS) version can be ordered that will store 60-seconds of radio traffic for instant replay. In addition, up to six alert messages can be programmed to direct the pilot's attention to out-of-limit conditions, if interfaced with compatible aircraft systems.

The system was designed for maximum ergonomic simplicity, with easy to see and use buttons in a natural configuration. The PCD7100-I is manufactured in the USA, is FAA-Approved to the most current international standards. PS Engineering's 1-year no-hassle warranty and ProSupport program back the units for a lifetime of worry free operation.

World's Smallest Audio Panel with
Integrated Intercom and IntelliVox®

PMA4000 audio select panels

Intercom or 2 1/4" Hole Mounted - Audio Panel with Built-In Intercom
The PMA4000 is a 4-place panel mounted intercom with added capability for switching two communications transceivers and navigation receivers, as well as providing a speaker amplifier. The intercom features PS Engineering's exclusive IntelliVox® with individual volume controls for both the pilot and copilot.
  • A multi-position mode switch allows the pilot to select either Pilot Isolate or All intercom modes.
  • The ISO mode isolates the pilot from the intercom, and connects directly with the aircraft radios. The copilot and passengers are free to have conversation and enjoy the entertainment without radio interruption. The pilot is not distracted by passenger intercom use and has control over the radio communications.
  • The "ALL" mode places everybody on a party line. Each person hears all intercom conversation and aircraft radio reception. Everyone hears the entertainment source as well.
  • The "Off" mode is part of the automatic fail-safe interconnect to the aircraft systems. If power to the intercom is disrupted, the pilot's headset is automatically connected to the aircraft radio. This permits continuous radio communications.
The PMA4000 has independent intercom volume controls for the pilot, and the copilot. Because this system was designed with the tandem cockpit in mind, the copilot volume can be remote-mounted in another location. Because the pilot and copilot volume control does not affect the aircraft radio volume, balance between the intercom and radio audio is easily achieved. For instance, by reducing the pilot's intercom volume, the aircraft radio volume will be in the foreground, while the intercom will be at a background level.

The PMA4000 takes advantage of PS Engineering's revolutionary IntelliVox® intercom squelch system. By harnessing the computational power of microprocessors, the PMA4000 eliminates complicated squelch adjustments. In addition, by using independent microphone circuits unwanted noise is kept out of the audio. Since only the microphone being spoken into is open, extraneous cabin noise is minimized. Individual squelch controls mean that the system can be tailored to different microphones, as well as variations in voice levels in the cockpit.

The PMA4000 has two switched com transceiver inputs and two switched navigation receiver inputs. In addition, there are four un-switched audio inputs that can be used for other receivers or audio warnings such as autopilot disconnect or GPS alerts.

There is a built in speaker amplifier in the unit. Pushing the volume control will place all selected audio, or any un-switched audio present, over a cabin speaker.

With the PMA4000 installed, both pilot and copilot have transmit capability over the aircraft radios. Only the person who presses the PTT is heard over the radio. The selected com LED shows green when selected, and flashes during radio transmissions. This feature acts as a stuck microphone indication.

The COM transceiver switching is automatic. When the toggle switch microphone selector is in COM 1, the receive audio and microphone signals are both presented to the audio. The push button selector controls receive audio only., and is used to select multiple com receivers.

The PMA4000 provides entertainment input. When the intercom or aircraft becomes active, the music will automatically mute, allowing communications without distraction. When the activity cases, the Soft-Mute™ circuit gradually returns the music to the original volume. A slight delay prevents lost syllables and choppy conversation.

In our non-FAA certified unit, an optional internal digital recorder (p/n 11941) can provide up to one minute of stored aircraft radio reception. This device is a continuous loop recorder that automatically starts recording the instant a radio transmission is received, with no dead air time recorded. By pressing a momentary switch, the last recorded messages will be replayed. Up to 16 messages (or 1 minute) can be stored.

An optional configuration is available with a remote-mounted volume control for the copilot, a great option for tandem aircraft.

Aerocom® III - Third Generation Portable Intercom
and First to have IntelliVox®
intercom Aerocom III
Flexibility, portability, affordability, and ease of use make
the Aerocom® III one of our most popular intercoms.

The Intelligent Choice
After a decade there is finally another portable intercom good enough to bear the PS Engineering name. The Aerocom III is the only portable intercom with IntelliVox®, a completely automatic VOX squelch. The same intercom VOX squelch used in the top-of-the line PMA7000MS audio panel.

Clear cockpit communications is as easy as a casual conversation with the Aerocom® III. No more fiddling with knobs.

No more clipped words. You don't need to reach for the intercom as you change power settings because the squelch processor is constantly monitoring each microphone, and adjusting the threshold for the ambient noise.

No more headset swapping and matching. Each microphone is handled independently, therefore, any combination of aviation headsets will work with the Aerocom® III.

A 9-volt battery or an aircraft power can power this 2-place intercom. A single 9-volt battery provides 10 hours of use. When the battery is nearing the end of its life, a gentle beep in the headset will remind the user that it is time for a change.

IntelliVox®, is what makes the Aerocom® III so remarkable. By harnessing the power of microprocessor electronics, each microphone can compute the difference between speech and cabin noise. It opens instantly when somebody talks. Each microphone has its own processor circuits so only the microphone spoken into is active. This prevents unwanted background noise from entering the audio system.

By using external push-to-talk buttons (not included), both the pilot and copilot positions have the ability to transmit over the aircraft radio. Only the person pushing their push to talk button will be heard.

The Aerocom® III will route stereo music to the headsets through the optional music cable. The music automatically mutes when there is intercom activity or radio traffic.

The Aerocom® III is expandable to 4-place with the Aerocom® EX expansion unit. This contains separate music input, it's own IntelliVox® , processors and independent volume control.

There are two modes controlled by a top-mounted switch. In "ALL" mode, both positions hear radio communications, music and have intercom capability. In the "ISO" mode, only the pilot side is connected to the aircraft radio, without intercom or music distractions. The copilot position continues to have music and intercom communications with an Aerocom® EX, if installed.
