The Model 3000-10 is an automatic fixed/automatic portable (AF/AP), type ELT with voice transmission capability. The complete kit for all models includes the transmitter with battery pack installed, mounting bracket, remote whip antenna, 62.5 inch coaxial cable, remote panel switch kit, master switch guard clip, Installation and Operations Manual, weatherproof "ELT LOCATED HERE" decal, and a warranty registration card. The Model 3000-10 and 4000-10 also include a telescopic antenna with lanyard for portable use. . The newest models, designated 4000-10 (AF/AP) and 4000-11 (AF) are interchangeable with existing units in form, fit and function. The mounting bracket, directly interchangeable with the current design, has been modified for the new environmental requirements. A re- mote panel control switch with visual activation monitor, previously an optional accessory, is now required in all (AF) automatic fixed installations and many of the (AP) automatic portable installations, is now included in the complete kits. The remote switch previously supplied with the 4000 is not compatible with the 4000-10. The standard whip antenna and coaxial cable previously supplied with the Model 4000 unit is interchangeable with the new models. Those components, if serviceable, may remain in use with the new transmitter. Existing remote switch wiring for current pointer units may be used, and installation of the switch requires minimal panel space. The 4000-10 and 4000-11 transmitters incorporate an alkaline battery pack specifically designed to endure short term extreme thermal variations and mechanical shock requirements of RTCA DO-183. The low profile whip antenna provides 20DB rejection of commercial FM radio stations in the 88-108Mhz band. This will reduce the "FM interference" or "FM noise" problem encountered at airports located in the vicinity of commercial FM radio "Antenna famrs". The antenna is a vertically polarized monopole design with an impedance matching and narrow bandpass network in the mounting base. The antenna height is approximately 12 inches and is mounted at a 20 degree angle to the airstream. Mounting requires a single 1/2 inch "D" hole. The antenna is a 50 ohm impedance at both 121.5 and 243.0 Mhz and a coaxial cable of the required length may be used between the transmitter and antenna. The antenna may be used with any ELT designed for a 50 ohm system. The primary application of the low profile design is for installations on propeller driven single and multi-engine aircraft. Because of the small outline dimensions and rugged construction the antenna is also well suited for helicopter installations where mounting space is limited and the location may be subjected to rotor blade buffeting. |

The current battery pack is a patented design which complies with the extreme environmental requirments of TSO-C91A. The battery is qualified for use in all general aviation Model 3000 and 4000 series ELT transmitters. The warranty on the transmitter is continuous provideed the unit is equipped with a current Pointer manufactured battery. |
